Planning a wedding? Warnings about AI in your weddings content...

A new trend in wedding photography, videography and content is causing serious concern amongst professionals in the weddings industry.

Naturally, couples would walk away from anyone who suggested they add AI to their precious wedding memories, but the truth is that many new providers of wedding videography or photography services have AI baked into their media... and probably don't even know they do.

This serious issue has come from the result of a trend towards employing 'wedding content creators'. On the surface it seem a fairly fun, harmless addition to a wedding party, but a worrying change towards employing and paying content creators for the role could have ramifications for the industry, and generates some serious moral questions for anyone charging couples for images or videos taken with a mobile phone instead of a professional photo or video camera.

What many people don't know is that all mobile phones breathe AI into an image the very moment the shutter button is pressed or the recording begins. Phone cameras are of course tiny, usually with the sensor being only around the 10th the size of a professional camera. As a result, in order to get that 'professional' look that is typical of wedding content, AI modifies the image drastically by way of adding fake lighting, colour, ambiance, soft focus, and more. The extremely concerning element is that most people have no idea this happens at all, including most content creators. The situation has become even more alarming recently, after MIT released a report demonstrating that AI enhanced images and videos can actually implant false memories in the minds of people who view them.... yeah, scary.
